Jacksons Spoils Systemimproving or SPOILING the government?

Ambitious Andrew Jackson, after elected president comes up with the Spoils System, in which the practice of a successful political party gives public office to its supporters. Jacksons spoils system was not based on intelligence or work ethic, and only revolved around political support. Will this corrupt the government? Eventually it will by hiring unskilled workers. There were three principle reasons for the spoils system. It was determined to end government domination of those with financial interests. The second reason was that they had feared a bureaucracy, which is a system of government in which most of the important decisions are made by state officials rather than by elected representatives. Lastly, Jackson wanted to give the common people a chance to participate in government, as after all Jackson was well-known for being the common man president.
