Materials
TBA Solution: 1 g of TBA dissolved in 75 ml of 0.1 N NaOH ( 40g?) and diluted to 100 ml Trichloroacetic acid-HCL Reagant: 25 ml TCA solution (20%) and 90ml HCl (0.6 N) are mixed with 105 ml of distilled H2O HCl acid: 0.6 N. Antioxidant Mixture: 100mg of trihydroxybutyrophenone is dissolved in 1.8 g of propylene glycol. 100 mg of Tenox VI is then added to the mixture Siliclad ?

Procedure
80-150 mg oil sample in a coated test tube bottom of test tube w/ medicine dropper (4-8 drops) dont touch sides of tube 5 drops of antioxidant mixture (exact weight is not necessary) and 1 ml of HCL (0.6 N) added to the test tube mix gently 5 ml TBA reagent is then added and the tube is placed w/out shaking in the constant temp. bath. (100o C) Cold finger condenser?? 30 min. Then add 44 ml of TCA-HCl to make a total volume of 50 ml. And heating is continued and additional 10 min. Cool tube in water bath and mix by inverting w/rubber stopper 20 ml of solution is transferred to a glass stoppered 50 ml conical centrifuge tube.
