FANTASY/CONCORD SIGNS THE DUNWELLS TO WORLDWIDE DEAL Releasing Blind Sighted Faith on 8/28 as UK Folk-Rockers Play Three Month

US Tour (Los Angeles) Concord Music Group has inked an international deal with Austin, TX-based independent label Playing in Traffic to re-release Blind Sighted Faith, the debut album by the Leeds, England-based band The Dunwells, on its Fantasy Records imprint on August 28. Included will be a newly written and recorded track, So Beautiful, produced by George Drakoulias, known for his work with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, The Black Crowes, The Jayhawks and others. The Dunwells have made waves in American since their first appearance here at the 2011 North American Folk Alliance Conference. Anyone thats seen them has just been Oh my God! Theyre mind boggling! Folk Alliance Executive Director Louis Jay Meyers told Voice of America radio. The quality of the songs, the quality of the playing, the quality of the vocals, the harmonies. Man, theyre like Mumford and Sons times 10. Not long after they were recording Blind Sighted Faith at Willie Nelsons Pedernales Studio outside of Austin with Grammywinning producer John Porter. The five-man band has since won favor with such prominent entertainment industry figures as film director and onetime Rolling Stone writer Cameron Crowe (who found their first Los Angeles debut at Hotel Caf stunning) and noted music business commentator Bob Lefsetz (who found them utterly astounding! after seeing The Dunwells at the 2012 Folk Alliance Conference). American Songwriter declares, its clear this is a band with a bright future. And after they earned a standing ovation opening for Los Lonely Boys, the Examiner observed that The Dunwells may not be on everyones radar screen yet. But if the crowd reaction during and after their much too short and very sweet nine-song set was any indication, theres a huge blip working its way towards superstardom as we speak. The group consists of two brothers, two cousins and a close friend who simply love to sing and play music together. All five made their initial mark entertaining in pubs and clubs in Leeds before uniting as The Dunwells. We are genuinely best mates, explains singer, songwriter and guitarist Joseph Dunwell. We sometimes bicker and fight, but then we hug and make up and go out for a drink. Their sound melds classic roots with contemporary freshness and is laced with five-part harmonies to transcend genre with a multi-generational appeal. Were all in it for the same reason, says David Dunwell. We just love making music. The tour includes such varied events as Lollapalooza, taping the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour, the Triple A Radio Conference, the Edmonton Folk Festival, the Western Arts Alliance Conference, the Americana Music Conference and the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The Dunwells will also play such noted showcase clubs as New Yorks Mercury Lounge, L.A.s Hotel Caf and The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA and open shows for Alejandro Escovedo, Los Lonely Boys and Sheryl Crow.
