Isostasy Principle

Isostasy refers to the state of gravitational equilibrium between the earth's lithosphere and asthenosphere such that the tectonic plates "float" at an elevation which depends on their thickness and density.

Metamophism all the mineralogical, structural and chemical transformations of previous rocks ,in solid state, due to changes in temperature and pressure. Metamorfismul const n transformarea n stare solid a unei roci preexistente (protolit), ntr-o nou roc (metamorfit).
