Helping younger kids understand how music came to be To make sure that after a kid understands something to spread it among the generation

This career field just goes over some basic information you need to be able to start to understand music
Being a music educator is basically saying you will be teaching a lot of different people about music I want to pursue this career because I believe music can change the world

Skills needed
I will need to know how to conduct in the different time signatures (4\4, 6\8, 12\8) I need experience in the classroom with kids I have to also have a lot of patience when you deal with kids I will also have to know how to play every instrument in the band [ saxophone, trumpet, flute, clarinet, trombone, baritone, drums, tuba, mellophone, violin, cello, bass, viola, bassoon, French horn, piccolo, trombone, harp, piano, vibes] I have to make things from the real world connect with music in a way that kids can understand

Requirements for top national colleges

Harvard: The Harvard Department of Music is an academic department of the university. It does not conduct a separate admissions process. All applicants must apply to Harvard College for admission. There is no audition required. If you are interested in music, submit a CD of your performance or composition along with your application as part of your supplementary materials. Admissions will not accept a CD of you playing with a large band or orchestra, so submit either a solo CD or one with an accompanist. The choice of material is up to you. Please do not send these to the Music Department. Your materials will be evaluated by music department faculty, but the process is "blind," and Harvard College Admissions will remove your name from your materials before they are sent to us. Manhattan Audition Repertoire Find audition repertoire guidelines on each Academic Department page On the day of the audition,applicants will fill out a repertoire form with the pieces that they will present to the faculty. Applicants ARE NOT required to submit their audition repertoire to the Office of Admissions prior to their audition day. Accompanist Information MSM will provide accompanists for the audition (at no cost) for the following majors : Classical Voice, Bassoon, Cello, Clarinet, Flute, Violin, and Viola Orchestral Bassoon, Cello, Clarinet, Flute, Violin, and Viola All Jazz Performance Majors Classical accompanists make themselves available for rehearsals prior to the audition, however their rehearsal time slots can fill up quickly. The rates for rehearsals are negotiated directly between the applicant and the accompanist. Contact information for accompanists will be emailed to classical applicants approximately two weeks prior to audition week. Jazz applicants will meet the rhythm section immediately before their audition. Recorded Auditions Eligible applicants include those residing outside of the continental United States, Conductors, those who play Cello, Tuba, Harp, or Double Bass, and those applicants for the Barnard/MSM Cross-Registration Program (except composers). Ineligible applicants are those residing in North America and those applying for Orchestral Performance, Composition, Accompanying, and all Doctoral Programs. If applicants wish to submit a recorded audition and their instrument is prescreened, they are still required to first submit a prescreening recording.
