I guess it is a bit hard (or actually impossible) to design an optimized controller for a floating turbine if the dynamic calculations

of the turbine and floater are done separately. However, even an unoptimized floating foundation solution will be a step forward, especially if it proves the feasibility of using a T ! for supporting a "-#$% offshore turbine. &ny design, conservative or not, could be used to benchmar' simulation programs (and there are several nowadays that offer integrated design) and optimize the ne(t generation and series production of floating wind turbines.
