Vertical Teaming Process This is the order that we will follow.

6th grade will look a little different, they do not have the Foundational Skills piece so that group will need to start at Writing. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Foundational Skills Writing Speaking, Viewing, Listening and Media Literacy Language Literature Informational Text

We will look as a grade level at each reading benchmark and create the expectations we have for students coming into our grade level and leaving our grade level. After brainstorming with your grade level we will look at the standards to make sure everything we believe should be taught is truly connected to a standard and that we didnt leave anything out. Then, we will look at the grade above us and below us to make sure everything is aligned. This process should allow us to look closely at what we teach and make sure we are meeting and exceeding the standards. Then we will look in our curriculum to make sure these skills are being taught. We will use large pieces of paper to lay this out so we can see the progression from one grade level to the next. White paper coming into your grade level Yellow paper going out of your grade level Teacher Manuals star skills being taught, make notes for things that need to be added We will get as far as we can and then look to use some or all of our next in-service day to continue this process.
