Teacher Evaluation Process In the 2014 2015 school year ISD #756 will fully implement the Blooming

g Prairie Teacher Evaluation Process in accordance with MN Statute 122A.40. The Blooming Prairie Teacher Evaluation Process implementation will provide teachers with opportunities for growth and allow increased student learning in all curricular areas. Through goal setting, PLCs, Peer Review, Teacher Observation, a Three Year Observation Rotation System, Data use, and a Summative Evaluation all teachers will be provided with a framework that will allow for growth and learning. Blooming Prairie Schools ultimate goal will be to continue our work in helping to create the Worlds Best Workforce. Goal Setting 1) All teachers in the Blooming Prairie School district will be required to set one or two specific teaching goals. 2) All teachers in the Blooming Prairie School district will set goals with their PLC. 3) Goals will be shared with the building principal and will be reviewed with the building principal throughout the school year. 4) See attached document. PLCs 1) All teachers in the Blooming Prairie School district will be required to actively participate in a PLC. 2) PLCs will share goals with other staff and administration. 3) PLCs will meet two times a month and during workshop days to increase student learning. 4) PLCs will set goals and collect data to show progress toward those goals. 5) See attached document. Peer Review Process One goal of the Peer Review Process will be to improve teacher performance and student learning. The other goal will be to make sure that each peer reviewer is non-judgmental, developmental, reflective, relevant, safe and job-embedded in his or her approach to the Peer Review Process. 1) The Peer Review Process will include a Pre-Conference, a Post-Conference, and a review of teachers goals. 2) The Peer Review Process will only include tenured teachers. 3) Administration will work with Peer Reviewers to cover classes during Peer Reviewers observations.

4) All staff will be trained on the Peer Review Process and will be provided with questions to guide the Pre and Post Conferences. 5) See attached document. Evaluations (Yearly / Summative) 1) All non-tenured teachers will be observed three times each school year and will have a summative evaluation filled out at the end of the school year. 2) All tenured teachers will be observed once every three years by an administrator. 3) All tenured teachers will have a Summative Evaluation written up once every three years. 4) All tenured teachers will be involved with a Peer Review Process two out of the three years during the three-year observation rotation. 5) All tenured teachers being observed through the Peer Review Process will be observed two times each year by the Peer Reviewer. 6) All observations, whether by an administrator or a peer reviewer, will include a Pre-Conference and a Post-Conference. 7) The Charlotte Danielson Evaluation Model will be used for both the Formative and Summative Evaluations. 8) See attached document. Three-Year Observation Rotation A three-year observation rotation system has been developed and implemented as a part of the teacher observation process. See attached document. 35% Student Growth (data) All teachers will be required to collect data to support student growth and learning in their classrooms. Data may include AIMSweb, NWEA, MCA, and classroom assessments. The goal of data collection will be for teachers to know where students are at, what skills need focus, and work with each student to continue their growth toward meeting grade level standards. Teachers and Administration will work together to determine what data is used for each teacher. Summary Administration and members of the Blooming Prairie Teachers Association developed the Blooming Prairie Teachers Evaluation Process. The process was agreed upon by Administration and approved by the BPTA. This process was put in

place to increase student learning, improve teacher quality, and meet the requirements of Statute 122A.40. All parties will work through this evaluation process to continue their work toward helping create the Worlds Best Workforce.
