This path will fulfill most students' needs. Topics include geometry, measurement, number and logic, logical reasoning, relations and functions, statistics, and probability. For a detailed Program of Studies, follow the Mathematics 20-2 link at http://education.alberta.ca/teachers/program/math/educator/materials.aspx.

Attendance will be taken right after the bell. If you arrive after the bell, you will be asked to go directly to the office for a late slip. You will then be asked to enter the classroom quietly, place the late slip in the bucket on my desk, and I will mark you late and adjust the attendance folder. 2. Missed classes will be dealt with according to the schools attendance policy. 3. Homework and assignments are expected to be completed in pencil. 4. Assignments are expected to be handed in on time to ensure timely feedback prior to students writing any quizzes or exams. 5. There will be a quiz approximately every few lessons. They will be based on that week s work. Each quiz is designed to be completed in 20 minutes or less and will be written at the beginning of class. 6. Extra help is always available. Depending on your schedule (and mine), we can schedule a time to meet before school, during focus block or after school. 7. You are expected to bring certain items to class every day: pencil, paper, and calculator. 8. Phones and i-devices are only permitted to be used as a tool for learning in class. 10 All music devices (with headphones) may be used after the lesson is over. Only one person will use them at a time (no sharing headphones) and the volume will be set low enough that surrounding people cannot hear it. 11. In the event of being absent, it is the students responsibility to find out what work they missed and to make every effort to catch up. If you know ahead of time you are going to be absent, please inform me with the dates.

Examination Rules: Students are responsible to bring all materials needed for an exam to class before the exam. Students will not be allowed to share materials. Cheating during an exam will not be tolerated and will result in a mark of zero. A deferred exam will be given only when exceptional circumstances prevent the student from writing at the scheduled time. Marking Policy: Assignments must be neat and handed in at the beginning of class on the due date specified. All calculations are to be done in pencil. Homework: Homework will be assigned daily and is expected to be done prior to the following class. It is strongly recommended that you keep up with it. Help: Please feel free to see me about any concerns you may have about the course material, unusual circumstances, or personal concerns. My objective is to help you be as successful as possible in this course. I am available for help at lunch and after school most days. Please make an appointment with me in advance. GOOD LUCK!!
