What 4 days of the week start with the letter t?
Read Across America In honor of Read Across America, the media center will host our annual Love a Book Swap Friday, February 28. This is a program where students bring up to 5 gently loved CURRENT GRADE LEVEL CHAPTER books to the media center as early as Monday, February 17. On Friday, Feb. 28, the students who brought in books will be called in by grade level to shop the gently loved book cart. 5th grade will get first dibs, followed by 4th and then 3rd. What a fun way to clean out your book shelves at home and have some new free books to explore!

The students are enjoying our book study on Where the Red Fern Grows! Due to the limited supply of books, 5th graders are sharing the love of this fabulous novel; thus, we are unable to send books home. If your child has Where the Red Fern Grows downloaded on an electronic device, such as iPad, Kindle, or tablet, he/she is welcome to bring this instrument to use during reading class. Social Studies with Mrs. Schier & Mrs. Parrish

We will spend the next few weeks in the study of the Solar System and Rocks & Minerals. Students will have a VERBAL Planet Test (in order from closest to the Sun and out) on Wednesday, February 19. Math with Ms. Grimmett/Mr. Wynn

We are chugging right along with fractions! Students have illustrated the meaning of multiplying fractions this week. Next week, students will learn other strategies to multiply fractions and whole numbers and to multiply fractions with other fractions. During the week, we will work on lessons 7.4 through 7.8 in GoMath. We will continue our timed math fact assessments on Tuesdays throughout the nine weeks. Please practice 15 minutes at least 3 nights a week with your child. Thank you again for your support with nightly practice to retain these math skills! We will have our mid-chapter quiz next Thursday (20th).
