Dear Superintendent, It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Ashley Sack. As an instructor at Michigan State Univeristy, I have worked with Ms. Sack in two courses over the last two years. During this time, her performance was consistently among the highest in her cohort. I was routinely impressed by the quality of her written and oral presentations. She exudes a sense of confidence and purpose characteristic of a veteran teacher and natural leader. Ms. Sacks work was, and continues to be, professional, accessible, and grounded in research. Ms. Sack distinguishes herself from many of her peers by fluidly incorporating relevant citations from research publications and professional texts into her professional writing, instructional decision-making, and lesson plans. It is clear that Ms. Sack is committed to developing her instructional delivery and classroom management skills with evidence-based practice. However, what is most remarkable about Ms. Sack, is a devotion to excellence that extends far beyond her coursework. She routinely engages in professional learning opportunities by reaching out to successful professionals in the field. She seeks out teachers and instructional leaders with a proven record of student achievement in order to learn from them and improve her own professional practice. I believe Ms. Sack is both an outstanding student and an exceptional leader. I believe her skills, as a teacher, are comparable to many seasoned veterans in the field. Though Ms. Sack is just beginning her career, I am confident she will have an immediate impact on both her students and her colleagues. In fact, I would feel completely comfortable with her as my childs teacher. I urge you to give Ms. Sack your full consideration. She has already demonstrated the skills and knowledge necessary to be an effective teacher in the field of special education.
