An operating system is an master control program in the computer: the essential program in a computer that maintains disk files, runs applications, and handles devices such as the mouse and printer. It also manages computer hardware and provides common services for computer programs.

There are different types of operating systems like windows, apple, android, ios and etc.

What does it mange

The operating system manages the utility program, the memory management, the file management, and the input and the output. It also manages the kernel Utility program is an soft ware designed to optimize your pc and check for viruses like Trojan etc. Memory management keeps track of the status of each memory location. Either allocated or free. Kernel is a computing program that manages input/output requests from the software and then translate them into data processing for the central processing unit.
