Key Highlights
The Madras Law Journal, the oldest law journal in India, is an institution in itself. The journal is well-known and respected, not only for its prompt and discerning reporting, but also for the research articles in its journal section. Throughout its long distinguished life the journals editors have been active practitioners with a clear focus on the needs of the bar and bench. Judgments reported in are selected by a highly qualified editorial board that uses a process of selection structured to suit the needs of readers. Over the years, MLJ has been successfully publishing all judgments of significance on a wide range of topics of civil and criminal law. The MLJ set the trend as well as the standard for law reporting in India. It was the first private law journal to be recognized under the Law Journals Reporting Act. The articles in the journal section are assessed carefully prior to publication. It is our effort to publish only those articles that make a serious contribution to academic and professional debates on legal developments as well as on the administration of law.
