To Whom It May Concern: I am extremely pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Ms.

Lauren Mariano for a teaching position in your school district. I have known Lauren since 2013 while she was enrolled in the education program at Seton Hill University. In fact, Lauren was a student of mine in the undergraduate class Language Development. She has been one of the most dedicated and successful students I have had the pleasure of knowing. Her ability to learn new information and to critically analyze it was, quite honestly, second to none. As an educator, I have found Lauren passionate about language development in young children and its relationship to the development of early literacy. As an avid participator during Language Development, Laurens insightful comments added a depth to our discussions and set her apart from other students in the course. Furthermore, Lauren was able to showcase her superb writing skills through the establishment of a Language Journal, in which her observation and analysis of young children and their language skills were documented. When asked to develop a language lesson for preschool-age children at the Child Development Center, a lab school at Seton Hill University, Laurens performance, again, did not disappoint. Her lesson was extremely well-organized, including clear and measurable objectives and current state standards for student achievement. Not only did Lauren provide parents with a written explanation of her lesson as a way to promote language development, she also took great care to craft modifications and to provide accommodations for learners with particular special needs. Clearly, Laurens maturity is the basis for her ability to express empathy and to exhibit consideration for all learners and their families that only comes with experience. In terms of experience, Lauren has a great deal of it. As you can see from her resume, she has been successfully employed as an Assistant Teacher through the campus work study program at the Seton Hill University Child Development Center for the past four years. Through her affiliation with the Seton Hill University Career and Professional Development Center, Lauren has utilized technology to complete work assignments. Clearly, Lauren is accustomed to working hard a fact that is highlighted by her extensive employment histories and her commitment to each position. Consistently, Lauren earns the respect of her colleagues and her supervisors. I cannot think of a more impressive individual to recommend as a teaching candidate for your district. As a speech-language pathologist working in a public school setting, I would welcome the opportunity to work alongside an educator such as Lauren. Her knowledge, insight, maturity, experience, and strong work ethic would be tremendous assets to any classroom in any school district. Feel free to email dknedeisen@setonhill.edu if more information is required. Sincerely, Denise L. Knedeisen M.A., CCC-SLP Speech-Language Pathologist & Adjunct Faculty, Seton Hill University
