Solution
Since, by symmetry, the point of zero slope can be located at C a solution can be obtained conveniently using Mohrs method. This is best applied by drawing the B.M. diagrams for the separate effects of (a) the 30 kN loads, and (b) the 20 kN load as shown in Fig. 5.40.
