Outlines: Declaration and US Constitution Declaration of Independence When a countrys government imposes one groups beliefs, division must occur Government exists to protect the rights of the people, and when it fails to protect those rights it is the right of the people to alter/abolish, then create a new government King George repeatedly attacked his peoples rights through omission and through violent actions The people petitioned for King George to change his ways and he never did The accuse him of being a tyrant (because he was) They declare independence!

The Constitution of the United States Congress established, made up of the Senate and House of Representatives Members of the House of Reps voted for every two years, one representative for every 30,000 people, must be at least 25 years old, US citizen for 7 years Two members of senate for every state, voted in every 6 years, 30 years old, US citizen for 9 years Vice President is Head of the Senate, which oversees the impeachment process Congress assembled ever first Monday in December Each group can create smaller assemblies to do day-to-day business and creates its own rules Members of office paid by Treasury; kept from arrest if in session (excluding treason/felony) Bill passed through House and Senate then to President; if vetoed, sent back to House and Senate. If 2/3 of both groups vote, becomes a law Congress collects taxes to pay off debts No member of Congress can accept a title of nobility/title from any foreign state without government consent
