The Life and Achievements of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Birth
-Mozart Was Born in the year 1756 in Salzburg Austria.1
- His birth name was Wolgang Gottlieb Mozart.2 -He later had his middle name changed from Gottlieb to Amadeus. Mozart felt that the Latin version of his name, Amadeus, sounded more sophisticated.3

Early Life
- From the time he was extremely little Mozart lived an extraordinary life. - Pretty much all of his life he spent playing music from the time he was young. - When He was only three he was already able to play chords on the Harpsichord. 4 - By the time he was four he could learn full songs. 5 - By the time Mozart turned five years old he was already capable of composing basic music.6

Early Life Continued


- When Mozart was almost six years of age, his father took him to play and his sister with him to Munich with him. On this trip they performed in the Bavarian Court.7 - He Also went with his father to Vienna to play for other Courts and Nobles a few months later.8 - He Continued This pattern of touring and performing across Europe for the next few years, gaining recognition everywhere he went.9

Career
- Because of Mozarts talent, He became extremely skilled musically at an extremely young age. - This resulted in him starting a career younger too. - In the year 1780, he returned from touring to Salzburg where he started composing a variety of symphonies, operas, sacred works, concertos, and many more. 10

- From this point on in his life there were he created a huge variety of compositions and worked in many different positions.

Career Continued
- His first major position he held, was for the archbishop of Salzburg as the court composer. 11 - However, He did not last long in this position. - Mozart did not like the restrictions that came with a church position and openly rebelled. This lead to him being let go from this position. 12 - However unfortunate it may have been, it ultimately led to some of his greatest successes.

Mozart in Vienna
- Mozart spent the next little while doing freelance work. 13 -He would use his talents for anyone who could afford to pay. This included Operas, in home performances, various public performances, publishing his music, and teaching lessons. 14 - Mozart wanted a position in the imperial court of Vienna, but unfortunately a composer by the name of Salieri got the position instead. 15

- In 1787 Mozart received the minor court position underneath Salieri. 16 - In this position he received a respectable wage for a musician, and had his own servants as well as carriage. 17 - Mozart was only required to compose court dances and other works which he felt were beneath his capability. 18

Money Problems
- Mozart lived out the rest of his life in Vienna. 20 - Mozart and his wife, Constanze Weber, Had serious money management issues, due to the excessive lifestyle that they lived. 21 - Because of this, Mozart once again started to take side job for money. One of the main jobs was composing comic operas. 22

End of Career
- Mozart continued composing in Vienna for the rest of his life. 23 - He composed a massive variety of music, and because of this he was able to start taking care of his money issues. 24 - However, due to the furious pace he lived his life at and the combination of poor health he died and was buried in an unmarked grave somewhere in Vienna. 25

Contribution to Music
- It is arguable that no has had as big of an impact on music as Mozart. - Mozart was famous for his ability to hear a completed work in his head and be able to transpose it in just a sitting. He also had a remarkable ability to write music to suite the taste of any audience he was writing for. 26 - The sheer number of compositions he had, which number in the hundreds is also one of the biggest contributions he had. 27

Contribution to Music
- What is so remarkable about Mozart is that he only lived to be 35, yet he still has an extreme amount of compositions. 28

- Many Compositions by Mozart are still popular today and performed world wide.
- Some of his most famous pieces today include Piano Concerto No. 21, Requim, symphonies 25 and 40, and many other pieces. 29
