Internship-University of Utah Engineering Department
2012-2013 Helped Chemical Engineering professor study and produce diesel fuel from algae. Prepared chemical solutions for his classes and tested experiments. Helped clean and prepare equipment for algae growth. Peer Tutor AMES High School, Salt Lake City, Utah 2012 Present Tutor AMES high school students in Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II (Math I, Math I Honors, Math II, Math II Honors), Arabic, Chemistry, and Physics. Assist with homework. Explain and help clarify the students understanding of basic concepts. Taekwondo Instructor- Sorenson Multi-Cultural Center Salt Lake City, Utah 2009-2012 Obtained Second Degree Black Belt. Volunteered teaching students Taw kwon Do from ages 516. Made sure that they were both physically fit and emotionally. Taught how to defend themselves in times of need by teaching fighting techniques and forms (Patterns of movement involving fists and feet). Students often from difficult back grounds.

Volunteer Pod Squad Summer 2013 Renewed commons area by asking for donations from local companies. Able to buy new couches, tables, and chairs. Helped paint walls. Currently prepare the building for events and guests.

Student Council-Junior/Senior 2012-Present Looked at school issues and tried to resolve them, planned out and set up dances. Helped with the yearly food drive, and coat drive. Helped student resolve issues, and present ideas to the student body. Informed student body about upcoming events.

Freshman Orientation- Ames High School Summer 2013 Helped incoming students to adapt to high school life. Did Activities in small groups to promote friendship, and team work. Helped show students around the building. Taught leadership skills and presenting skills, for future high school classes. Rekindled School ClubAMES Electric Car Club 2013 Present Building a fully electric car based off an electric car kit. Gathered interested students to help build the car. Helped with the wiring, cutting of the body, and the installation of parts and pieces. Worked on the trouble shooting and adjustments.

Clubs-Rotary Club of AMES/Cottonwood

2011-Present Was the sophomore representative, Secretary, and Currently the Vice present of the Rotary Club. Help plan events to benefit the community, convince members to attend and try to gather new people to join the club. Volunteered for the Utah Food Bank, St. Judes Hospital fun run, and Bikes for Kids. Along with childcare, a monthly service to look after children why their single mothers get advice and help.

Honors
GeometryExcellence in Geometry Art-Excellence in Fine Arts Exploration Charter Day on the Hill February 2013 Asked by the Principle and vice principle to create a presentation to showcase at the State Capitol. Able to inform the governor, and other government officials on the programs and statistics of our charter school. Try to convince officials to supply more money to charter schools.

RYLA-Rotary Youth Leadership Award September 2013 Three day camp. Had to write essay describing how volunteering has changed my life. Was able to win scholarship to the camp, and was able to listen to speaks and meet other people with my same beliefs. Had to write and publicly read my essay to the scholarship providers.
