us Course Description This class focuses on literature: short stories, fiction, nonfiction, novels, and poetry. Composition will include essays, reports, short stories, literary responses, reflective papers, and a research project. Grammar will continue to build upon previous concepts and will be incorporated in writing. Supply List- Please have all supplies by Monday, 8/19 Loose-leaf notebook paper Pencils Red Pen 3 ring binder with dividers (dividers are to be labeled: Bell Work, Vocabulary, Literature, Grammar/Writing, Other/Notes) *Please bring one of the following: box of Kleenex, Clorox disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer Grading Policy Final grades will be calculated by total points. Homework and daily assingments are worth 5-25 points. Quizzes are worth 40-60 points. Tests, essays, and projects are worth 100-200 points. Late Assignments According to school policy, students are allowed 2 school days to complete assignments due to absence. If a student is in class and fails to turn in an assignment, he/she may turn it in late for half credit at the teachers discretion. Procedures and Conduct Be in your seat when the bell rings. There will be a bell assignment each day when you arrive. Bring all materials to class every day. Students are responsible for getting missed assignments from the assignment agenda (located in the pink tray on my desk). Be courteous and respectful to all. Complete assigned class work.
