VACANCY Forage Crops Technician

The Limagrain Group is the largest Plant Breeding and Seeds Company in Europe. We currently have a vacancy for a Forage Crops Technician to join our team at Witham St Hughs facility, near Lincoln. As part of the small forage crops team you will provide an extra technical resource, working closely with the Technical & Product Development Manager on all aspects of the forage crop trialling programmes. You will be expected to provide accurate technical data on group and competitor varieties, becoming involved in the monitoring of varieties in official trials. You will take on small special projects, both in house and externally, working with farmers or other agencies. In addition the role will also include all practical aspects of field trials; seed preparation, drilling, collecting data, harvesting and sampling. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to learn. They will be a good team player and communicator and able to present. They will ideally be looking for an opportunity to further their career once completing a degree level qualification in agriculture or a science related subject, come from a farming background (preferably livestock) and have an understanding of practical farming issues. Some knowledge of trials/field testing and animal nutrition would be beneficial. The applicant should have good computer skills and a good level of numeracy. Own transport will be required.
