I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Amanda Zengel for your position. Ms. Zengel was in my classroom at Philomath igh !chool for "# weeks$ first as an o%ser&er and 'helper($ then as the instructor for my classes. Ms. Zengel took o&er my entire class load for an entire trimester$ teaching three sections of ).!. istory 'A( to sophomores$ and one section of Personal *inance to seniors. I found Amanda to %e &ery professional in all areas$ from her dress to treatment of$ and interaction with$ students$ parents$ faculty and staff. !he was also &ery diligent in her preparation for class and worked e+tremely hard with the students to %e sure they were mastering the class content. er lessons were well planned and thought out$ and &aried in their approach as she tried to reach e&ery student,s mode of learning. -ealing with so many students$ she was tested in many different ways$ and I feel she met all of these challenges. As she progressed through her student teaching term you could 'see( her gaining knowledge on how to deal with different indi&iduals and different situations. Ms. Zengel went a%o&e and %eyond what is normally called for %y student teachers$ as she %asically taught all four classes for all twel&e weeks$ and she took on e+tra challenges such as parent . teacher conferences and I/P meetings. 0ne of the strongest traits I saw in Amanda was her willingness to hold firm to her %eliefs and rules$ %ut yet acti&ely listen to the students. Many times I saw Ms. Zengel 1ad2ust, her classroom$ %oth in her lessons and in her rules$ to make them a %etter learning en&ironment for the students. As schools mo&e toward 'proficiency %ased education( I feel Amanda is on the cutting edge of this new wa&e$ and not only will fit in well with this trend$ %ut will %e a leader of this mo&ement. !he definitely has a firm grasp it,s re3uirements and e+pectations4 I feel Amanda Zengel did an outstanding 2o% while in my classroom$ and will %e a fine educator in our school system.
