TruVitals will provide veterinarians access to their patients touchfree vital signs data over the cloud, anywhere and anytime. The Market Need Veterinarians observe that sick and injured animals experience a great deal of stress when brought into a hospital or clinic. Adding to the animals discomfort is the necessity of measuring the animals vital signs using stethoscopes, wires and sensors. TruVitals has developed the VitalOne system to continuously monitor the vital signs of patients through the air without contact. VitalOne measures touchfree heartbeat, respiration, movement, and temperature. This innovative approach to vital signs monitoring is easy to implement, reduces stress, and shortens patient recovery time. TruVitals technology was developed by Dr. Jenshan Lin at the University of Florida. The VitalOne sensor measures micro-movements of the animals chest (or back) using a double sideband electromagnetic wave (micro-radar) to track and record cardio-pulmonary activity. The transmitted power is only 0.1% of a Wi-Fi router's transmitted power, and therefore it is safe for humans and animals. Our VitalOne system can continuously collect patient data and deliver it over the cloud to a portable device including laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Market Overview Our market strategy is to develop products for the Companion Animal market followed by additional products for the Equine market. According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), there are more than 28,000 clinics and hospitals in the US performing millions of surgical procedures on patients each year. The number of dogs and cats in the US is estimated at over 164 million with 50 thousand born everyday. There are also 9.2 million horses in the US. The top 15 states represent 57% of the total US equine market with 4.7 million horses. Our market strategy starts with a comprehensive survey of Companion Animal veterinarians and Equine veterinarians. We are consulting with the University of Florida and the University of Kentucky on our clinical trial strategy and related issues. We are working with veterinarians of animal hospitals and with equipment distributors. We have also met with owners and trainers of horses, dairy farms and racing officials. Our surveys indicate the majority of veterinarians rank monitoring heart rate & respiration rate most important. Over 86% of our respondents stated that a VitalOne system would add value to their practice. Over 65% believe it is important to monitor vitals continuously and 10% would buy a device immediately.

Product Features & Benefits Unlike traditional sensors that attach to the body, our system measures vital signs through fur and bedding. Customer benefits include: Improved reliability with continuous vital signs measurement; reduction of stress on caretakers and animals; reduction in the spread of disease from frequent contact; increased safety of each caregiver; monitoring of vitals over the cloud 24/7 using mobile devices; monitoring animals during intake, treatment and recovery; and lowering the cost of care. Our proprietary micro-Doppler sensor is mounted on the front of the animal cage or stall door. Patient vitals are displayed directly and remotely using VitalOne AlertTM, our cloud based software. Alert limits are easily set. Text messages with Alert status can be sent to a veterinarians cell phone.

Products TruVitals VitalOne AlertTM software displays heart rate, respiration rate, motion and temperature in a digital and strip chart format. Alert limits can be set by touching the associated vital sign chart and dragging the High and Low Limit bars. Text messages indicating alert status can be sent to a veterinarians cell phone. VitalOne WebTrackTM software displays vitals of multiple patients at one time. The software provides veterinarian with the ability to monitor multiple patients anywhere from the web. TruVitals WebTrackTM transmits and stores data on our secure server, in the cloud, for continuous review and reporting. Veterinarians can set Alert Limits and receive automatic updates for each patient via a cell phone or portable device. The WebTrackTM service will be purchased for a monthly subscription fee.
