Learning Goal: The students will read the appropriate leveled text independently and orally with comprehension. The students will answer comprehension questions about the appropriate leveled text. The students will write following the prompt using appropriate conventions. What did you do there? o Have you ever been camping? What did you do while you were camping? direct instruction o looking at the title of this text, what do you think is going to happen? o Read page 3 and 4 as a group, asking questions throughout (gives you a chance to hear the students read for fluency) o Read page 5 and 6 independently (what happened on those two pages?) o Read page 7 and 8 as group asking questions throughout o Read page 9 and 10 independently (ask questions afterward) o Read page 11 and 12 as group asking questions o End of story, ask for a summary of events guided instruction o complete comprehension questions o read aloud and answer questions 1-6
