PowerUp one-time initiative to start the transformation of learning

PowerUp is about transforming learning for today's students -- students who never knew a world before the Internet. PowerUp is funding projects designed by our teachers to build even more personalization into Eastern Carver County Schools' education. PowerUp is rooted in the district's technology plan and in the reality that we must make the most of limited resources. In October, teachers submitted applications for more than 65 PowerUp projects. In November, 25 projects were approved based on their potential to transform the traditional classroom. Eastern Carver County Schools has limited resources for technology, but transforming learning with the use of technology resources is a top priority to improve student learning. These grants are one-time funding this school year to power up teacher-led projects. PowerUp projects are funded by depleting funds in the contingency plan set aside for emergencies, interest earnings and by making short-term budget adjustments - no new money is being spent. There is no funding available to expand PowerUp projects beyond this school year. PowerUp Projects
