OBJECTIVE
To successfully fulfill and enhance high standards of learning as a French or Spanish teacher and to participate fully in the life of the community.
CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, Atlanta, GA Upper School French 2008-2014
Currently teach French I, II, III, IV and AP to classrooms of 1-13 students Designed French curriculum for new Upper School, choosing instructional materials including textbooks, writing learning outcomes and benchmarks, and creating placement tests; created schools first AP French Program in 2011 Prepared all students for Le Grand Concours (National French Exam), with several students receiving Certificats dHonneur for th placing in the top 80 percentile Planned transdisciplinary units focusing on the real-world application of French language and culture to topics such as limited water use and genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) Taught an Introduction to French Cuisine course demonstrating the intersection between food, culture and language
Taught Design Thinking course encouraging students to use the D.E.E.P model (design, empathize, experiment, produce)
Provided feedback on students learning improvement and behavior during parent-teacher conferences and by providing detailed comments for every student on quarterly progress reports Utilized student-centered learning techniques, including presentations, performance tasks, and design thinking
