    News from the gardeN

    The recent weather may not have proved beneficial to many homes, fences and trees in the county but the plants in the eco garden have definitely enjoyed the wettest February on record! The plants are almost ready to harvest (and be served up for a tasty dinner), and new crops to be sown! The eco garden is also now home to a variety of 30 new saplings. A scheme from The Woodland Trust donates trees to schools and the Beacon has been lucky to benefit from it! If you have any interest in gardening or cuttings of plants that might be useful please do not hesitate to get in contact with Mr OHanlon at school! You can also follow the news from the garden on the eco blog (access student links on the Beacon home page and click blogs then eco blog!)
