    The governance code is a code of practice for community and voluntary organisations# %t means that policies and procedures are put in place to ensure an organisation is run well#. It is not particularly onerous, and for most small groups, it involves most of the practices that they already have, such as regular meetings, a constitution and a bank account. The Code has three categories of organisations, and there are different actions for each category, in proportion with the scale of the organisation.

    agreed that all community groups receiving grants or awards from the Community Culture and Social Development Section of Wicklow County Council, from 20 ! onwards, must adopt the "overnance Code# What is the Governance Code The "overnance Code has $een developed as a code of practice for community and voluntary organisations# %t means that policies and procedures are put in place to ensure an organisation is run well# It is not particularly onerous, and for most small groups, it involves most of the practices that they already have, such as regular meetings, a constitution and a bank account.
