Melissa Knox 816 Winford Ave Green Bay WI, 54303 March 2014

To whom it may concern, My name is Melissa Knox and I am very interested in the Position available. I am confident that my qualities and inspiring personality would be a wonderful asset to your community. I have a Bachelors degree in K-12 French Education and I have many dynamic teaching experiences with ages fiveeighteen. Although I hold a teacher certification in the state of Wisconsin, I am presently seeking licensure for the State of Colorado and I am making plans to call Colorado my home. I am currently teaching French at Pulaski Community Middle School in Wisconsin. While teaching in Pulaski, I have been asked to develop three unique French classes and an Enrichment course for eighth grade students. I was motivated to create an innovative Exploratory French Curriculum for sixth graders. I also had the opportunity to develop a new curriculum for the Introduction of French for seventh graders and French I for eighth graders . My motivation to develop and implement innovative lesson plans would fit perfectly with the students of all ages. I have a strong passion for the wellbeing and education of my students. Every child deserves a chance to be heard st and an opportunity to succeed. Living in the 21 century can be a challenging time for children and it is up to the role models in their life to guide them through the tribulations and support them through their successes. In order to do so, it is important that all teachers are flexible, determined, loving, and compassionate. Flexibility, in my eyes, is crucial to the success not only of the individual, but also for the class, the school, and the community. Flexibility, compassion, determination sets the foundation of future achievements. My compassion is demonstrated in an enrichment course that I have developed for eighth graders. As a firm believer in the anti-bully movement, I created this course to help students become positive contributors to society by promoting positive behavior at their school and in their community. I developed a strong relationship with these students as we expressed our own individualism, practiced teamwork and demonstrated compassion for others. The Pulaski Community School District thrives on teaching children the values of living in the 21 century and technology has served as a wonderful teaching tool to provide those experiences. I have investigated, practiced and incorporated educational and interactive technology tools to assess student knowledge, and prepare students for real life situations. Not only were students actively engaged during these lessons, but I was able to see substantial growth in their ability to speak French as they were exposed to new experiences on a daily basis. Since I am knowledgeable in the areas of technology, it would provide the students at this school a motivating way to learn and I would provide help to other colleagues who may be less familiar with newer technology advancements. In addition to my teaching opportunities in Pulaski, I am also the Varsity Cheer Coach for Pulaski High School as well as the Middle School Cheer Coach. I have had the opportunity develop and establish a strong Cheer program. As the head coach, I arranged schedules, choreographed routines, practiced and taught high level stunts, networked with other coaches, coordinated team bonding experiences, and organized budgets and banquets. Working with these talented girls has been an opportunity of a lifetime. Not only did we become a highly recognized squad, we became a cheer family. I believe that my teaching qualities would complement the philosophy at your school. My experiences in teaching and technology would provide students with wonderful learning experiences. My motivation and passion for both education and athletics would offer many positive experiences. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to working on your team.
