IEPs & Accommodations

Use accommodations to support, not replace, specially-designed instruction. For example, if a calculator is an accommodation on the IEP, there should also be a goal of working on basic computational skills. Another example, if the student cant spell and a spell-checker device is made available for student use, a goal should be included that will provide specially designed instruction on developing skills needed to improve spelling.
