407-843-1330 Fax 407-423-9415 March 21, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, A Bonneville Elementary Physical Education Teacher has made a difference! With childhood obesity becoming a national epidemic, schools are being viewed as a critical link in improving childrens health. Your PE Department is the link to your students heart health. Zachary Arem has partnered with the American Heart Association for many years with our Jump Rope for Heart program. Zachary is making important strides in reducing childhood obesity in the community. On behalf of the American Heart Association, I would like to take this opportunity to express our heart-felt thanks for Zacharys enthusiastic support of Jump Rope Program at Bonneville Elementary. While coordinating Jump Rope for Heart at his school, he went above and beyond 20 hours of community service hours. His community service work has helped the American Heart Association further our mission of building healthier lives free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Zachary is an exceptional individual who, as a Jump Rope for Heart event coordinator for many years, performed beyond the normal expectations, benefiting the students, the school, and the community. He has led a GREAT TEAM of Teachers and Staff with tremendous effort and support to help make Jump Rope for Heart a success. Zachary has qualities you would want to see in every teacher. He is hard working, honest and willing to serve. His commitment to help save lives is second only to his commitment to students health and well being. Through his leadership he has taught students a great willingness and importance of getting involved in their community. It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Zachary. He is an inspiration to us! The funds raised from Jump Rope for Heart will be used to support the mission of the American Heart Association: Building healthier lives free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. This mission takes on an even more important role as we look to the future. The American Heart Association made a commitment to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases among Americans by 20%, while improving the health of all Americans by 20% by 2020. With help of our volunteers like Zachary we hope we will accomplish this goal! One of the best ways we can surpass it is to continue to educate children about their risk factors for heart disease and teach them healthy habits to last a lifetime. Our organization depends heavily on volunteers, and enthusiastic ones like Zachary are special to us.
