March 21,2014 To Whom It May Concern: I am so pleased to prepare this letter of reference for my teacher candidate, Kallie Lapp, a hardworking, intelligent, and devoted teacher, who has been working in my 2 grade classroom at Wasatch Elementary for the past 8 months. Wasatch is an inner-city school in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a diverse population and an emphasis on the arts. This offers students and teachers many opportunities for growth in music, drama, dance, and the visual arts.

Kallie Lapp is an organized and highly motivated person. She listens well and learns quickly. Her patience and thoughtfulness in planning, along with a wonderful work ethic, all make her the perfect candidate for becoming a teacher of children. She has been a delight to work with, and often I would go to do something and find it already done. She sees what needs to be done and does it in a quiet and efficient manner. Kallie demonstrated an immediate connection with the second grade students. They responded positively to her firm, caring, ''let's get working" attitude. Their love for her was so evident and the children knew they needed to work hard when Miss Lapp was in charge. No time was wasted because they were always so busy with timely work! We had a fairly large group of children with special problems/needs. Miss Lapp took it upon herself to personally tutor them in Early Steps, Next Steps and Higher Steps, which she is trained in, and moved them along admirably during her 8 weeks of total take-over of our classroom. She also taught them the alphabet in Sign and used sign in our Pledge and the Preamble. She made good use of the Smartboard and other technology, creating fun, worthwhile interactive lessons for the children to enjoy and learn from. She will be a very competent and committed teacher because she loves teaching, she really cares about the children, and is willing to do the necessary work to help them grow and learn. Parents and teachers that she interacted with, often commented on her competence and finesse. She did all of the Parent Teacher Conferences in third term and I sat back and enjoyed her great job! I feel she will do well in any classroom after her experience with mine this year. Her management skills are remarkable, positive, yet firm. I highly recommend her to you. She does everything with excellence. Any school will be lucky to get such a knowledgeable, hardworking, and exciting teacher. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
