    Close the sql server service copy the dynamics database and log file into a new directory. 2. Change the just moved db and log file to xxxtst.mdf and xxxtst.ldf 3. Attach xxxtst.mdf and xxxtst.ldf into your sql server database. 4. Start sql server 5. Close Dynamics AX instance 6. Copy Dynamics AX application and past it in the new folder but in the same directory of Dynamics AX application 7. Start AX instance 8. In the Services of Windows Server Administration, open MS Dynamics AX Server Configuration 9. In the manager button create a new Configuration name with the selection of Active configuration 10. In the AOS tab, change Application instance to the new location of the application for testing environment 11. In the Configuration command to run at kernel startup: type Testing Env 12. In the Database Connection tab, change Database name to xxxtst 13. In the manager button, save the new configuration to a file and place it in the desktop. 14. Return the configuration back to the original (Installation configuration). 15. Run the new Configuration file on the desktop. The info message should display Testing Env when the Ax starts.
