Assessment ThestudentswillknowwhatIwantthemtolearnbecauseIwillleadadiscussionafter/duringthereadingtopulltheir attentiontocertainpointsandevent.Iwillcheckforunderstandingbyaskingthemquestions,suchas,"HowisCreon feelingatthispoint?Whydoeshefeelthisway?"Iwillknowwhenchangesareneedediftheclassisunresponsiveand notansweringmyquestionscorrectly.Gradeswilbegivenbasedontheircharacterstudysheetsthattheyneedtohave completedforthenextclass.Theywillbegradedbasedonaccuracy. Thislessonwentbetterthanyesterday.Iwasnotnearlyasnervoustobestandingupatthepodiumandleading discussion.IfIdidn'tknowananswer,IfeltcomfortableaskingforMr.Kohlhepp'sopinionorrequests.Thestudents wereenthusiasticwiththeirrolesandgettingintocharacter.Theactivityofhavingthemchoosedifferent personas/accentsreallyseemedtomakethereadingalittlelessdullandmadethemexcitedtoread.Theywere laughingandreallygettingintoit.Becausetheclasswasinagoodmoodafterthefunnyreadings,theyweremoreopen toanswerquestions.Iftherewasanytensionintheairbefore,itwasgonenow.MaybeitwasjustbecauseIwasless nervousbecauseitwasn'tmyfirsttimeleadingdiscussion,buttheclassreallydidseemmorelaidbackandeasyto teach.WhenIwouldwalkaroundhelpingstudentswiththeircharacterstudysheets,theyweren'tafraidtoask questions.
