Ministry Philosophy

Jesus commissioned us to make disciples of all nations. The mission of the church should be centered on this command. Discipleship involves sharing the Gospel to others and training and equipping those who place their trust in Christ. The leaders of the church must lead and equip the body to go out and transform their culture to know Jesus and be like Him. The leaders must boldly commit to prayer, accurately teach Gods word, continually practice fellowship, and wholeheartedly follow the example of Christ. Insert photo

Personal Summary

I was born on April 15, 1989 in Chelsea, Alabama. I grew up with two very loving, involved parents and an older brother who always looked out for me. I trusted in Christ as my personal Savior when I was about 12 years old after I heard the Gospel at a Vacation Bible School. My pastor talked to me about my decision and afterward I was baptized in my own swimming pool. I continued to mature as a Christian and did a summer discipleship project called Kaleo the summer before my sophomore year in college. This had a tremendous impact on me, and I really felt the Lord leading me to share what I learned. I then had the opportunity to lead our college small group and other ministry opportunities that confirmed that I wanted to give my life to teaching Gods Word and proclaiming His name. I then decided I needed more training; and, after much prayer and direction, I came out to Dallas Theological Seminary. I met my fianc, Allison Bengtson, at the University of Alabama and we are set to get married on July 12, 2014. She currently teaches second grade and wants to pursue a Masters degree in counseling. Her humble spirit and heart to share the Gospel with others pushes me daily. She has always been my biggest supporter and encourager. My hobbies include playing sports, anything that involves being outside, and any kind of card game.
