October every year is observed as National C il!"#ns Mont $NCM% in our country pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 267 issued on September 30, 1993. !e celebration see"s to #emp!asi$e t!e importance o% t!e role o% t!e c!ild &it!in t!e 'ilipino %amily and in nation buildin(.) *t also supports Section 13, +rticle **, o% t!e P!ilippine ,onstitution, &!ic! reco(ni$es t!e vital role o% t!e yout! in nation buildin( and mandates t!e promotion and protection o% t!eir p!ysical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social &ell-bein( by instillin( in t!em t!e values o% patriotism and nationalism, amon( ot!ers, as &ell as encoura(in( in public and civic a%%airs. !is year.s celebration %ocuses on poverty &it! t!e t!eme, # Kahirapan Wakasan, Karapatan ng mga Bata Ipaglaban! !e primary ob/ectives o% t!is annual celebration are to encoura(e not only t!e duty !olders but also t!e sta"e!olders to contribute to poverty reduction and to advocate %or stron(er !olistic actions, particularly preventive measures to address problems o% poverty. Pursuant to 0ep1d 2emorandum No. 163 s. 2013, San 4uan 1lementary Sc!ool undertoo" t!e su((ested c!ild-related activities durin( t!e %irst and second &ee"s o% October to !i(!li(!t t!e role o% c!ildren in community li%e and nation-buildin(. II. ACTIVITIES
