Procedures:

Warm up: Go over vocabulary words on the board for the first 10 minutes of class. Assessment: Combining like terms test. Student will take assessment test to gauge their understanding of the topic; Combing like terms. Students will be given 20 minutes to complete the test. Activities: Combing like terms practice page to be worked in groups for 10 minutes. Independent Study: The remainder of the class time will be independent study time. Students can work on their homework, ask questions, and get help from teacher. There is 20 minutes of independent study time for this math lesson.

Interventions/Extensions:

For students who are deaf there will be computers with voice output for the warm up portion of class. Students who have an IEP will have one on one help for them to work through their math problems. Extended time on the combining like terms test will also be given to students who require it. Students are grouped together by their math skill level. Notes:

It is alright is students do not complete the assessment test. It is a tool used to judge their understanding of the topic and determine how quickly they can work the problems. Class time is 60 minutes
