GENERAL

When ever one bearing line is made through for flushing other bearing lines

are kept bypassed by providing a


reversible dummy in the return oil line

After flushing lub oil header and lub oil line to individual bearings charge control oil

system and flush the system one by one

Whenever new system is made through for flushing have a close watch on amps ,MOT Level. Isolate certain schemes to maintain MOT

level & AOP amps

Whenever level comes low due to charging of new lines for flushing, observe MOT filter choke If the filter is normal ,choke the already lines

in service

After initial mass flushing of all oil lines first thermal shock was given

Nearly after 170 th thermal shock line filters


were introduced at the return line of

HPCV1&2

Nearly after 270 th thermal shock line filters were introduced at the return line of IPCV1&2 After 200 th thermal shock STG was charged

and opened 30%

After 300 th thermal shock line filters were introduced in brg nos 1,2,3,4,5,6

After 210 th thermal shock jacking oil line header was made through

The fire protection enclosures and the solenoid valves must be removed from the

valve blocks

The aux trip oil ,aux start up oil and test oil pipe of thrust brg trip are connected by bypass to the return oil pipe

Approx thermal shock 300 Nos

Flushing continuous .stopped only to attend


leaks and filter cleaning

After line flushing line filters were introduced in the lub oil line

Individual brg line filters inspected


periodically

This process is continued until no further debris is collected at the strainers over a period of 24 hours

Oil strainers may be removed and cleaned

Metals and non metallic particles particles not allowed A final sample of oil is then taken and

analyzed
The strainer in the main oil tank should nbe

inspected and cleaned

The strainer may be left in service and inspected from time to time during initial

turbine operations
