We, Scientists.
1. 2. We do work that benefits others (patients, workers, society in general etc). We do not want corporations to exploit our work for profit. We do not want them to manipulate our work; hide information from the public for the sake of money or over-price and deny poorer people access to our work. We do not want governments to restrict us or use our findings to perpetuate war. We do not want the public to make generalizations based on trivialities or use the moral standards that specific to their interests to criticize our work. They have imperfect knowledge. If we are restricted, we are likely to leave the country and go where there is freedom. If we believe in the benefit of our work, some of us are willing to go as far as experimenting on ourselves for the sake of humanity We want to work with international groups to share expertise and educate the masses to be open-minded, and also rise above both politics and profiteering. We know there are bad apples among us, so our cooperation with regulatory bodies is important.

We have budgeting priorities to consider. The majority must benefit from the science we invest in. We are accountable to the people (taxpayers, voters). In democracies, we represent the will of the people; so scientists should listen. Science must contribute to defence, which is our duty. Relying on purchased defence systems alone still makes us vulnerable. Only we can set the laws that prevent the exploitation of science by private groups and to secure the safety of the public (consumers, patients, test subjects) We know we need to support scientists in order to stem brain drain. We want maintain stability by preventing tensions in society caused the controversial science. We are the rightful regulators or mediators within our respective countries

We can invest heavily in R&D, and are not constrained like the government. We just need to see that the plan is viable i.e. can make $$$$ We encourage competition better products for society. We can allocate resources efficiently what does not work is stopped to focus on the projects that can work and are required by the people Science and the private sector, together, form the backbone of advanced economies. We must collaborate for the sake of the entire nations competitiveness. Scientists do not understand the economics that goes with their work. We will use patents to our advantage to keep competitors off our turf for a while. The intellectual property must be made ours, not the scientists own. We will carry produce profitable products in order to finance even more R&D We will market our products well, even if we have to doctor documents To prevent prices from sliding, we will carry out economic dumping, if necessary

We are the ones who will consume the products of science, or face the effects of widespread use of the products. We may not know politics, or economics, or science, but we have a right to be given full information in order to make the best decisions for our health, and in accordance to our values We do not want dangerous science like human experimentation or food scares. We are worried about our other basic freedoms like privacy. We do not want science to be used by businesses or the government to exploit or oppress us. We want to be asked for our consent and not be subjected to science without our agreement e.g. medical testing, organ transplants We can help scientists be more independent by contributing to crowdsourcing for funds

We are want to remove politics from science. We know that scientists can move to other places with more relaxed standards. So we have to set rules for every country to abide by. Fair play among countries contributes to the peace and stability of the word in general. We want to prevent science from being used by countries to invade others For medical science, we know that movement across borders spreads diseases. We must act as a coordinating body to solve the worlds problems with science and its effective distribution. We can draw experts from around the world to work together, instead of leaving them to compete with each other for personal glory, or on behalf of their universities or companies. Humanity comes first.
