Julius Caesar Project

Choose one of the following projects to complete individually. Your project should demonstrate your knowledge of the play, as well as literary concepts associated with it. 1. Comic Strip: Create a comic strip for a scene from Julius Caesar. Your comic strip must be at least 10 frames long and include dialogue and color. The dialogue does not have to be word for word from the text; you can use more contemporary dialect, but the context should remain the same. Deliverables: comic strip 2. Film Trailer: Film a trailer for a movie version of Julius Caesar. The trailer should be at least 2 minutes long and convey an appropriate tone and context for the play. It can be a modern adaptation (but doesnt have to be!), but the story should remain the same. Deliverables: copy of trailer on a CD or flash drive 3. Soundtrack: Create a sound track for Julius Caesar that includes at least 10 songs. For each song, specify during which scene the song would be played. In addition, write a 50-word explanation of why the song is appropriate for the scene. Do not summarize the scene; consider lyrics, tone, beat, etc. The soundtrack should be in a case with an illustrated cover. Deliverables: CD with at least 10 songs, 10 write-ups, and an illustrated album cover 4. Modern adaptation: Either film or perform a modern adaptation of a scene from Julius Caesar. You may film it or perform it for the class. You are allowed to recruit other people to help you! Deliverables: either a live performance or a copy of the performance on a CD or flash drive and the script for the adaptation 5. Newspaper: Create a newspaper chronicling the civil war in Julius Caesar. Your paper should include a current event (200 words), an advice column (100 words), an obituary (100 words), and a gossip column (100 words). Your finished product should look like a newspaper, not just 4 sheets of paper stapled together with different titles. It should be illustrated, but the focus is on the writing. Deliverables: newspaper, including all 4 sections 6. Powerpoint: Create a powerpoint presentation summarizing Julius Caesar. Your powerpoint should include details from individual scenes, quotations, and explanations of why you chose the quotations. Deliverables: powerpoint presentation 7. Other options: Consult me!

*All projects should demonstrate evidence of time and effort. Submissions should be neat and wellconstructed. If you hand write anything, it must be done neatly in ink.
