2. As I pass out the word cards, I will say the word and then have the students say it too in order for them to be sure
what word they have.
3. I will re-teach the students about the police officer, specifically their funtion, location and tools.
4. As I say words the students have, they will come up and stick them to the poster.
5. Students will recive their community helper logs at their desks.
6. They will draw a police officer and will have to have at least three words from the poster with their police man.
7. The lesson will close by having some students share their drawings and words they chose.
Grouping Strategies This will be a whole group lesson, followed by independent work.
Differentiated Instruction When handing out the word cards, I will make sure they know what word the student is receiving so even if they connot
read the word they will know when to come place their word card. Also, if students are having difficulty writing their
three words in their logs, they can bring the word cards back to copy or go closer to the poster to copy the words.
