UNIT/CHAPTER OBJECTIVE/GENERALIZATION/BIG IDEA:


This lesson plan is a part of a unit plan on the life of a honey bee.

LESSON OBJECTIVE:
Define the history of the honey bee in the United States. We will discuss the importance of the honey bee in the ecosystem. Students will travel with the honeybee to view its daily routine.

Given the information at hand the students will be able to understand the life of a honey bee, its importance in the ecosystem, how honey is created, what is pollination and nectar. The relationship of plants and bees.

STANDARDS ADDRESSED: CLE 3255.1.3 Relate specific animal behaviors and plant tropisms to survival. CLE 3255.1.4 Investigate various approaches to maintain biodiversity.
CLE 3255.4.3 Distinguish between primary and secondary biological succession.

MATERIALS: Students will be given a pdf. Form honey bee matching worksheet. Students will be given a glossary with all the terms relating to the assignment. Students will be given a matching worksheet listing the parts of the flower. Students will complete a question and answer on collaborizeclassroom.com Students need to have access to the internet to complete the question and answer section on the above website. Students will need to have an active email address to upload their completion of the pdf. worksheets listed above.
