1. Evaluate Keller-Globes approach to training. Keller-Globes approach to training program is quite satisfactory as they are taking care of reactions from the workers. They are going to provide proper training to the workers before they install new presses in the factory. As the production manager mentioned that he will arrange a pre- training for Lau McGowen and later on the manufacturing company would send a trainer to train all the workers before all the machines are installed in the factory. This is actually a very wise decision made by the production manager in order to increase the production and also keeping the proper training of workers prior to change in concern. This way he would achieve his goals in a very balanced way with virtually minimum conflicts and problems. Career vs Job Security
1. Is J.D concerned more with job security or career security? Discuss.
I think J.D is more concerned about building a career security than job security. In todays world, being agile is the smartest move, as the economy and industries are in constant flux. People talk about the importance of job security, but that is meaningless. There are plenty of jobs, if youre really that good youll find another. Career security is far more valuable. And, you achieve career security through building a strong personal brand. Building career security, not job security and showcasing your results/expertise its empowering. You will connect with other like-minded, passionate people and help each other with projects, help each other spread ideas and make change in our world. Its the difference between being average and being remarkable.
2. Do you agree with J. Ds statement that: Your knowledge is your portfolio within your current workplace or within the industry? Discuss. Human Resource Management
I do agree with this statement because your knowledge about your job/management is an ongoing process, you have to be a proactive person of what you do and know so you can take charge of your position and build more skills and industry knowledge to yourself. You have to research your industry so you know what it is happening at the moment so you can be able to make informed decisions. Look for trends, so you can start training yourself in those areas. Knowledge is power, having the right skills at the right time ensures that no matter what is happening around you, you will be needed and employable.
