Mumbai, March 21, 2014: Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India today donated educational, administrative and security aids to The Research Society, for the care, treatment and training of children in need of special care. The Research Society has been engaged for more than 70 years in serving various needs of these children. She also donated essential utilities like dining tables and chairs, beds, bedside lockers etc to Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy Dharmshala, an old-age home working in the cause of aged, destitute citizens, and run by District Benevolent Society of Bombay. Both these initiatives benefitting the differentially abled children and the elderly, destitute people were undertaken by State Bank of Indias CAG BKC branch, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Bank. In a simple ceremony organised on March 20, 2014, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude at SBI taking interest in their causes and thanked the Chairman for the donations. The function was graced by Mr P Pradeep Kumar, MD & GE (CBG), Smt. Saraswathy Atmanathan, CGM II, CAG & Smt. Padmaja C, GM & RH, CAG BKC.
