Services
Department
Student Services operates from 8:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. Students see their counselors by
appointment except in emergency, crisis
situations, during lunch, or before and after
school. However, there is no guarantee their
counselor will be available to see them with-
out an appointment or emergency situation..
Parents should call Student Services to make
an appointment with their childs counselor
or if they would like to schedule a parent/
teacher conference with multiple teachers.





All students must have a pass to enter
Student Services when not at lunch.

Student Services Team
CONFIDENTIALITY
Provide individual counseling related to a
variety of emotional, social, and academ-
ic issues.
Collaborate with other professionals
such as the school social worker, school
nurse, and school psychologist to assess
students needs and develop an effective
response.
Help students develop their talents and
interests via the academic experience
while gaining a better understanding of
themselves.
Advise students regarding course selec-
tions, promotion standards, and gradua-
tion requirements.
Assist with post-high school planning
and preparation.
Promote equity and access to opportuni-
ties.

Meet the Counselors
Kenya Redd
Mrs. Redd is a graduate of North Carolina Central Uni-
versity, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Mrs. Redd also earned a Master of Education in School
Counseling from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. She has been granted national certification
by the National Board for Professional Teaching Stand-
ards. Mrs. Redd has 17 years of school counseling expe-
rience. She has worked on both the middle and high
school levels. Mrs. Redd is currently in her fifth year at
Atkins High School.
Fel i ci a Tubbs
Mrs. Tubbs is a graduate of Winston-Salem State Univer-
sity, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psy-
chology. She also received her Master of Science degree
in Counselor Education from North Carolina A & T Uni-
versity. Mrs. Tubbs has been working in the Winston-
Salem Forsyth County School System as a school counse-
lor since 2004 and enjoys it emphatically. This is Mrs.
Tubbs fifth year as a school counselor at Atkins High
School
Sean Sandag
Mr. Sandag received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Com-
munications from the University of South Florida. He
currently attends Wake Forest University in pursuit of a
Master of Arts in School Counseling and is in his second
year of the program. Mr. Sandag is interning at Atkins
High School to complete his training. He is on site Tues-
days, Thursdays, and Fridays.. It is Mr. Sandags belief
that every person has the tools to help themselves, and
the assistance of a counselor can help them evaluate
their actions and develop new plans. to get what they
want.
