1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.
(fantasy vs. reality)

Fantasy: all students come excited & well prepared for school, want to learn, and leave w/ everything you want
them to know

Reality: kids have to come to school, socialize often, dont really care for learning, some kids forget what you tell
them



2. What is your current educational level? What continuing education and training are required?

Bachelors of Science in Education

Continuing to learn through Professional Development provided by CCISD


3. Please describe the typical day to day activities of someone working in your field.
(day-to-day activities)

Teaches three 85 minute science classes a day
Social studies to homeroom
Block form 9:00-9:45 a.m. (attend art, music, or PE)
30 minute lunch

4. How secure are you in your current position? What do you think is the future of your field?
(job security)

Think public education secure; ever changing audience, needs to keep up w/ kids, way kids learn is changing;
dont think profession going away




5. What is a typical (average or lowest to highest) salary of someone working in your field?

Per CCISD first year teachers make $47,000 and 30 year teacher makes $67,000




6. What potential for growth is there in your field?
(growth potential)

Not sure about potential growth; think that fluctuates based on student enrollment

7. How would you describe your style of teaching?

Students are Active, Engaging, Singing, We try to make everything come to life.definition dittie, acting it out.



8. When teaching, what have you found that works in order for the students to understand and grasp the
material?

Learning the material in different ways-seeing it, hearing it, acting it, singing it, writing it, read it. Since kids learn
in different ways, I try to include as many types of learning styles so they I reach all of them.


9. What challenges do you face or find in the classroom when trying to teach your students?

Lack of focus, personal needs not met (breakfast, lunch, no snack), lack of discipline/repercussions for behavior,
Children who love to talk!!!!!!!!!!!! Kids completing their work on time.

10. What learning styles are present in your classroom (visual(spatial), aural(auditory-musical), verbal
(linguistic), physical (kinesthetic), logical (mathematical), social (interpersonal), solitary (intrapersonal)?

I think all learning styles are present in the classroom, maybe not on a daily basis, but weekly.


11. What rules have you established in the classroom?

The Golden Rule is..Do everything you can that will help yourself and others learn. In the beginning of the
year, we talk a lot about character and the importance of doing your best. We do have a conduct sheet that has
specific rules.

-Completes and turns in assignments
-Respect the Rights and Property of Others

12. Describe the format you use to develop a lesson?

I use the CCISD curriculum. Many of the lessons are the 5E model-engage, exploration, explanation,
elaboration, evaluation.

I also have a warm up everyday when they come in to get them working.
