Listed below is a brief summary on what I had learned this week:

Spring semester closed on April 11, 201 and students can no longer register for classes this
semester! "owe#er, the staff will use this time to recruit new students for the summer semester and will
begin registering current students for the fall! $hile staff is currently processing the paperwork, the
School %ean and I were working on Appeal cases! Appeal cases can be based on two categories,
Academic or &inancial!
%ean %r! 'ung and I worked closely on the Appeal cases so I would ha#e a clear understanding of
this process! Since this information is sensiti#e I am not able to share in writing their procedures!
Although I can honest say that if the %ean makes a mistake it could cause the school a serious financial
hardship! Also, registering a student for a course that he or she did not need can cause the school to lose
money because students will and can sue!
After we worked together for two hours, I spent time with the data entry manager to ensure that
appro#als were entered into the system correctly! See the picture below:

&inally, I completed another teacher obser#ation on %r! +ankston who was teaching +,S -02
.anagement /oncepts! 0bser#ation time last one hour 12p!m! 3 p!m!4 and I used my personal time to
write up the e#aluation which will be shared with %r! 'ung ne5t 6uesday! See attached sample form!
7ote: 6his form consists of three pages! 6eachers are re8uired to ha#e a lesson plan,
supplemental materials! Also, we must share #erbally with the professors +est )ractices 0bser#ed, Areas
that 7eed Impro#ement and Areas for %e#elopment! $e are allowed to re#iew the professor gradebooks
online, attendance and any comments he or she had shared with the students! 6he process sounds simply
but it is #ery detailed because these uni#ersities are audited three times each year!
