BOOKWORM CLUB REPORT

This form is to be submitted to Moodle no later than each Friday 11:30 p.m. for a total of 20
points each week (200 total points). You are to visit your child one hour weekly for 10 weeks.

This past Thursday in bookworms I worked with a few kids on reading high frequency words. I had a list
of names the teacher gave me and I would have about 100 words on flashcards and the child would
have to read it if they did not get it immediately or in 3 seconds I would read them the word and but in
the incorrect pile. If they got it right I would put it in the correct pile.







Write a paragraph describing a connection you made to EDU2122 Language and Literacy Fundamentals
class. This activity showed me where the kids were at in reading. The majority of the students were
getting the words that were 4 letters or less. They struggled to read the longer words. They also
struggled on words that were difficult to sound out because it would sound different. This activity
showed me the variation of the students reading skills. Some got the words quickly and got 80-90
correct. Some struggled and had around 50-60 correct but they were still trying.
