005 African Flower Hexagon Coasters

5 inches(13 cm) side to side, 5.5 inches end to end as shown

For 4 inch (10 cm) coaster, stop at Round 5.

Color C white
Crochet Hook Size H

Abbreviations and Special Stitches

ch chain stitch
sc single crochet
hdc half double crochet
dc double crochet
sk skip
sl st slip stitch
sp space
beg - beginning
rnd - round
shl 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc
ch2shl 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc


Instructions

Beginning with Color A. ch 4, join with sl st to form ring
Rnd 1: ch 3, dc into ring, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1) 5 times, join with sl st to 3rd ch at
beg of rnd. Fasten off.


Rnd 2: attach Color B in ch1 sp by drawing up a loop, ch 1, pulling end of yarn through
the loop to secure. Ch 2, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same sp. (shl in next ch 1 sp)5 times,
join with sl st to 3rd ch at beg of rnd.



Rnd 3: sl st, sl st in ch 1 sp, ch 3, 5 dc in same ch1 sp,(6 dc in next ch 1 sp)5 times, join
with sl st to 3rd ch at beg of rnd, pulling up Color A.



Rnd 4: * 5 sc in spaces between 6dc petals, sc, into sp between 2 dcs of Rnd 2
directly below sc.
Note: you are doing a long sc into sp between dc, and not in the ch1 sp.
Repeat from * 5 times, join with sl st to sc at beg of rnd, pulling up Color C.



Rnd 5: sl st, (sc, ch 1, sk 2 st,ch2 shl in sc, ch 1, sk 2 st)6 times, join with sl st to sc at
beg of rnd, pulling up Color A.



Rnd 6: 4 sc, 3 sc in ch2 sp, (7 sc, 3 scin ch2 sp )5 times, 3 sc, join with sl st
to1st sc at beg of rnd, pulling up Color B.



Rnd 7: sl st in each sc.
