Subject: Social Emotional Development Philosophy Topic: Divorce Lesson Length: 30 - 45 minutes Analyze Learners: The class consists of twenty-five (25) students, eleven (11) males and fourteen (14) females between the ages of eight and nine years.
Mental, Social, Physical, Social Notes: Disabilities: One male student in the classroom has ADHD.
Learning Differences: The students within the classroom are grouped as basic learners, intermediate learners and advance learners. There are a wide range of learners in the classroom and to cater to their learning styles technology and hands-on materials will be used to motivate and enhance their learning.
Cultural/Ethnic Notes: The diverse nationalities that are found in St. Maarten, create a diverse cultural classroom. We have Spanish, Haitian, Jamaicans, Chinese, Locals (St. Maarten students).
Current Knowledge: Students should have the basic knowledge what a family consist of (mother, father, sister and brother). They also know ways how they can express their feelings.
Prerequisites: Students have the basic understanding of how to use technological devices.
Learner attitudes: Getting shy student comfortable so that they are able to express or communicate during the activity.
Attitude to cultural/ethnic groups: Students are able to appreciate the different cultures that are shared within the classroom. Standards and objectives: Language and Communication: Standard 7: Can apply general skills and strategies of the writing process.
Standard 9: Can collect and use information for research purposes.
Standard 10: Can apply viewing skills and strategies to retrieve from visual media.
Mathematics: Standard 2: The student can use the four basic operations (+, -, x, ) according to standard procedures or variations in simple situations.
Cultural and Artistic Development Standard 22: The student can express his/her own experiences and feelings in a personal way

Standard 24: The student examines the creative manipulative possibilities of materials and applies these in his/her own work.

Technology, Media and Materials: Technology: Laptop: The online lesson will be accesses on the laptop. Videos: Students will watch video about divorce. Internet: The students will access the internet were they will carry out research and do online activities. Media The visual aid and hands-on-activities will be used to cater to the different learning styles of the students within the classroom.
Materials: Computer, online book, YouTube video and online resources will be used throughout the lesson.
Preview the materials: The teacher will make sure that the video is downloaded and headphones appropriate. Also that it is age appropriate and child friendly.
The teacher will make sure that the online activities are clear and at their level of learning.
Instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Prepare the materials: Prepare differentiated activities to cater to each learner.
Make sure the internet is working properly.
Prepare the environment: The classroom will be set up so that all students will be able to have access to a laptop.

Provide the learning experiences: The online lesson provides students will the opportunity to do activities uses various online programs.
The students will be given the opportunity to discuss and share information on Google doc and on the forum. Lesson time required: about 30 45 minutes for the lesson. Follow up lesson will be done in case of a family situation that may arise. Evaluate & Revise: Student Performance - an emotional rubric will be used to evaluate students work. Also students will use an emotional rubric to grade the online lesson and its effectiveness. Media Effectiveness: Based on the outcome of the lesson the teacher will give an evaluation of media used in the lesson. Instructor Performance: Students, co-workers and supervisors can evaluate teachers performance using this rubric.
