Procedures
1) Clarifying Goals &
Establishing Set
Warming up the class by explaining global warming & ask students
to think of the causes.
Clarifying objectives.
2) Demonstration &
Explanation
In order to identify/ explain global warming clearly, we discuss the
cause of it as a whole class. Pollution, endangered species,
deforestation (causes & harmful effects) are discussed.
3) Guided Practice Students would be asked to answer & think about questions such as:
"what do you know about global warming?", "what can you do to
protect the environment?", "who is to blame & why?", "what do you
think about poaching?", and students' own opinions about the lesson
in general are discussed.
4) Checking Understanding &
Feedback
Students work on the Student's Book, page 86, exercise 3&4.
Assessment Lesson objectives were achieved.

Procedures
1) Clarifying Goals &
Establishing Set
Warm up the class by reviewing about global
warming and slowly transitioning into one of its
main causes: pollution.
Clarifying the lesson's objectives.
2) Demonstration &
Explanation
Picture cards are used to explain & illustrate
each of the new vocabulary words. Explanation
required definition, example, and sentences
from students.
3) Guided Practice After introducing the new vocabulary, students
are asked to complete exercises one & two in
the Student's Book, page 87, as a whole class.
4) Checking Understanding &
Feedback
Students work individually in the Student's
Book, page 86, exercise 3.
Assessment Lesson objectives were met; more time was
needed.

Procedures
1) Clarifying Goals &
Establishing Set
Warming up the class by reviewing what they took in the previous lesson
(global warming).
Introducing the learning objectives

Explanation
Introducing the new vocabulary by reading and explaining the open
letter.
3) Guided Practice Asking the students to analyze the open letter as a whole class.
Working with the class on a formal letter template.
4) Checking Understanding &
Feedback
Asking the students to work on 'Types of a Formal Letter" handout as a
whole class.
Assessment All learning objectives were covered, with extra five minutes left to
class.

*List the effects of natural disasters

Procedures
1) Clarifying Goals &
Establishing Set
Warming up the class by playing a game (one student holds an index
card while the other student reads it and tries to draw it on the White
Board for the card holding player to figure out).
Clarifying goals.
2) Demonstration &
Explanation
A spider web is drawn on the White Board (with the students'
participation), it lists the natural disasters and their impacts.
3) Guided Practice Ask students to answer critical thinking questions such as: "why do
tornadoes happen?" or "has Kuwait suffered from any natural disaster?"
4) Checking Understanding &
Feedback
Ask the students to create a natural disaster spider web of their own.

Procedures
1) Clarifying Goals &
Establishing Set
Warm up the class by reviewing the list of natural disasters
and the possible solutions for overcoming them.
Clarify the learning objectives.
2) Demonstration &
Explanation
Before starting the lesson, a question related to the lesson will
be asked "what do you know about tornadoes?"/ "Do you
know any famous tornado names?" Then, the students will be
asked to read the passage in page 86 in the Workbook out
loud.
3) Guided Practice Questions will be asked after reading the passages, such as:
"what do you know about tornadoes?"& "when do tornadoes
occur?"
New vocabulary is introduced within the context of the
lesson. The students will answer the questions in a spider web
map on the White Board.
4) Checking Understanding &
Feedback
Asking the students to work on the questions in the workbook
as a whole class.
Assessment Ran out of time, lesson will be continued on Monday.

Warming up the class by giving them a scenario to think about.
Clarifying the lesson's objectives.
2) Demonstration &
Explanation
The lesson started with analyzing the diagrams in the Student's Book
on page 93, and clarifying what it means. Then, the elements of flood
and tides will make their way into the explanation and students
analysis.
3) Guided Practice As a whole class, students will work on completing exercises one &
two in the Student's Book page 93.
4) Checking Understanding &
Feedback
Ask students to act out scenarios that explained the new vocabulary
words.
Assessment Objectives were achieved, lesson was complete.
